Former Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman Ajay Tyagi on Wednesday said market regulator SEBI has acted within its jurisdiction and as per its understanding in the NSE matter. Simultaneously, he has denied any “dilution” of the orders in the matter. Ajay Tyagi’s five-year term as the chairman of SEBI ended on February 28. In his place, Madhabi Puri Buch, a former SEBI member, has been appointed as the chairman. Ajay Tyagi further said that other law enforcement agencies are also investigating the matter.
