Tata Motors has released the teaser video of its upcoming Tigor EV. In this, India’s first F1 driver Narayan Karkitaiyan is driving the car. The Tigor EV is already being sold under the name Xpres-T. But this new avatar of the sedan comes with Tata’s Ziptron technology. Some changes have also been made in its styling. On a single charge, it can go up to a range of about 300 km.
Specifications
The Tigor hasn’t been a strong product for the company in the private sector, but the vehicle has been given to many government officials as well. Tata has renamed the commercial variants of the Tigor EV as Xpres-T, and continues to sell it. However, poor performance and limited range have kept people away from the Tigor EV till now. The new teaser revealed by Tata shows that the new Tigor EV comes with Tata’s Ziptron technology, which is also present in the Nexon EV. Both have the same powertrain.
Till now, the Tigor EV was powered by a 72V 3-phase motor that churns out 40hp and 105Nm of torque. The 21.5kWh battery is claimed to have a range of 213 km. The Tigor EV gets the same 127hp motor as the Nexon EV. It will perform better than the old Tigor EV and will attract more customers. Like the Nexon, the Tigor EV also comes with fast charging support.

However, here they are slightly lower than the hatchback. The headlamps remain the same as before. Information about the launch date of the vehicle has not been given in the teaser, but it could be available anytime before the Diwali season.
