The Auto sector of India has severely affected by the pandemic caused by the COVID-19, causing many large companies to scale back and reduce their investments. But that is definitely not the case with Maruti Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki is ready to launch its fleet of hatchback and SUV cars to the Indian market within a period of the coming 10-12 months. These include improved versions of their already existing cars, along with some brand new models. And on top of that, this list includes Maruti’s first-ever electric car which will hit the market in 2021.
Here’s a list of all the new car models from Maruti Suzuki, that may take up the road in the coming months.
1. New Maruti Celerio Hatchback

Maruti Suzuki India is likely to celebrate this Diwali by launching their next-gen Celerio hatchback in the Indian market. The new-gen Maruti Celerio will be based on the same HEARTECT platform as Maruti’s WagonR and S-Presso. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback will have a more spacious cabin with a longer wheelbase. The next-gen hatchback will also get Maruti’s 7.0-inch Smart Play studio touchscreen infotainment system.

Some other features of the hatchback include a reverse camera, automatic air-conditioning, alloy wheels, and a multi-functional steering wheel. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will most likely come with two engine options – a 67bhp, 1.0-liter petrol, and a 77bhp, 1.2-liter petrol. Overall, the new model will have improved interiors, new styling, and give better performance.
2. New-gen Maruti Alto

Another car from Maruti Suzuki that is going to hit the road in just a few months is the all-new Maruti Suzuki Alto. The latest model of the hatchback is all ready to make a debut in the international markets in December this year, but sadly won’t be launched in India until next the year. The new Alto will switch to Maruti’s latest HEARTECT platform just like the new Maruti Celerio to give the cabin more space.
The new-gen Maruti Alto will be powered by a 796cc, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The new Alto will also have a new grille, an updated bumper, revised headlamps, updated tail-lamps, bolder side creases, and new alloys. Maruti will offer the new-gen Alto with its 1.0-liter petrol engine, with both a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission options.
3. Maruti Swift Facelift

The new Maruti Swift Facelift is already being sold in many countries like Japan and the UK and is now coming to India very soon. The new model of Maruti Suzuki Swift will get a new bumper along with a front grille designs with a chrome bar. Apart from that the new Maruti Swift Facelift will get a revised bumper, slightly reshaped LED headlamps, new alloys, and a 360-degree around-view monitor.

On the inside, the new Maruti Swift may get an upgrade with new seat materials and upholstery. Maruti will offer the Swift Facelift with the K12C 1.2-litre N/A four-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the Dzire Facelift. This engine produces 91PS of power while torque output stays at 118Nm of torque. The transmission options are going to be 5-speed MT or an AMT.
4. New Maruti Electric Car

Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that the launch of its first-ever electric car in India and it will be arriving to the markets in 2021. Maruti Suzuki WagonR Electric is an all-electric version of the Japanese Maruti Suzuki WagonR. Built with the new HEARTECH platform, the Electric Wagon R shares most of its design with the regular model, except for its new grille, new tail-lamp, and headlamp design.

The electric WagonR will have two charging inputs, in front (AC Charging) and rear (DC charging). The electric will come with both standard and fast charging options and offers a range of approximately 150 km in a single charge. The car will come with an automatic transmission and may have a dedicated driving mode and regenerative braking that will boost the performance of the car.
5. 5-Door Maruti Jimny

Maruti Suzuki will launch the 5-door version of the Jimny to the market during the next year. In a 2020 Auto Expo, Maruti showcased the 3-door Jimny but later explained that for the Indian market, the 5-door model will be a more practical and better option. This new model will also be called the new-gen Maruti Gypsy, Suzuki Jimny or the Suzuki Sierra.
The Jimny will be available with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Ciaz, Ertiga, and the facelifted Vitara Brezza. While a 5-speed manual is standard, the Jimny will also come with an option of a 4-speed Automatic transmission. The Maruti Gypsy will also have a 7-inch infotainment system, auto LED headlamps with high beam assist and auto climate control.
6. New Maruti mid-sized SUV

Maruti Suzuki joined hands with Toyota to develop and design automobiles together. Currently Maruti Suzuki is working on its all-new mid-sized SUV to increase its share in the SUV segment. This SUV model is believed to be based on the Toyota Raize’s. The Compact SUV will have features like the new attractive front wheel, new projector headlamps, new LED day emitting lamps, new tail lights, and roof rear.

It is being reported that the new model will receive the new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with which produce a power of 120BHP. It may also have a mild-hybrid system as well as 1.5-liter diesel engines with a power of 138BHP and 220 NM torque. It is being estimated that the Maruti Suzuki’s SUV could be sold exclusively through Nexa premium dealerships. The five-seater is supposedly arriving in both manual and automatic versions.
7. New Maruti C-segment MPV

The Joint Venture from the Maruti Toyota collaboration that is under development is an all-new C-segment MPV. The MPV will come with the new Front Wheel Drive monocoque platform and will have a very sophisticated design. Talking about the exterior features this MVP will have new 14” aluminium wheels, new rear combination lamps, and sliding doors.
Talking about the interior features, the MPV will have dual SRS airbags, new luxury upholstery, a new split-folding seat among others. The MPV will be offered with two engine options –1.5-liter K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild-hybrid system and a 1.5L diesel engine and will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealerships. The C-MPV will have similar underpinnings with Toyota’s seven-seater MPV code named B560 and it also could get sliding doors as well.
