Mahindra is planning to launch 13 new vehicles by the year 2027, out of which 8 will be electric-only models. The names of eKUV100, XUV300 EV have been in the news for quite some time now and now, the name of a Mahindra XUV400 has also been added to this list. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sector, Mahindra Group, has informed that the company may launch the eXUV300 under the name XUV400. Whatever the name, it is clear that the leaks coming out about the eXUV300 Electric are not wrong.
The AutoCar India report suggests that Mahindra may launch the eXUV300 in the market under a different name. The company plans to launch this electric car under the name XUV400. However, Rajesh Jejurikar has also told that the name has not been finalized yet. It’s still a codename.
Earlier it was being said that a mid-size non-electric SUV could be brought in the name of Mahindra XUV400. Reports suggest that the mid-size SUV, codenamed S204, was being planned to be built on Ford’s B-platform for some time now. However, since Ford and Mahindra are not in partnership, there is a good chance that the name XUV400 could be used for the eXUV300.
The production version of the Mahindra eXUV300 was expected to be launched by 2023, but there are reports of production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and global chip shortage.
