Hyundai’s Alcazar is being liked a lot in India. The vehicle has been launched this month and is said to be a separate version of the Creta. In such a situation, it became the last vehicle to leave the Chennai plant and touch the 10 million mark.

India’s second largest carmaker Hyundai Motor India Limited produced 10 million cars at its facility here on Wednesday. Whereas the small car Santro was the first model that was taken out of the plant about 25 years ago. It was the company’s latest model ‘Alcazar’ which came off the assembly line as a magical 10 million car.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who was present at the facility, signed the bonnet of the car to mark the momentous occasion. As the country’s largest exporter of automobiles, Hyundai Motor crossed the 3 million vehicle export milestone in early 2020, exporting to 88 countries and registering several export milestones over the years. 5 lakh exports in March 2008, 10 lakh exports in February 2010, 20 lakhs in March 2014. In the last financial year, the company had shipped 1,04,342 units. With the exception of the first two million cars that took more than two years, Hyundai Motor rolled out one million cars in a row in less than two years.
Hyundai Motor on Wednesday also announced community development programs such as; Inauguration of Dream Village Project 2.0. Construction of a child care center benefitting 500 people annually and a community hall with a capacity to accommodate 1,500 people at Katarambakkam village in Sriperumbudur. Launched an income-generation program (dairy farming) for rural women benefiting 200 families in Kancheepuram district and formed a self-help group to set up a mobile catering service in Vallakottai village near Sriperumbudur.
What’s special in Alcazar
The Alcazar is basically the DNA of the current Creta SUV. It is aimed at buyers looking to upgrade to a larger six-/seven-seat SUV. It is also quite different in terms of comfort and convenience. Alcazar was launched in India on 18 June. The company has introduced this SUV in three variants, Prestige, Premium and Signator. Talking about its price, this SUV has been launched at an initial price of Rs 16.30 lakh, ex-showroom, while the price of its top model has been kept at Rs 20.14 lakh, ex-showroom.
