Electric vehicle
The auto industry has suffered a lot due to the Corona epidemic. However, now the auto sector has gained momentum. BS6 (Bharat Stage-6) was implemented in April during lockdown. It will be completed one year from April 1.
Apparently, the government switched from BS4 to BS6 to reduce the increasing pollution in India. At the same time, for the year 2021, the government is emphasizing on electric vehicles. It is believed that if the use of electric vehicles increases in the country, then the auto industry will soon recover from the corona.
According to Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, using an electric vehicle saves Rs. 30 thousand per month in fuel costs. In this way, in case of 10 thousand electric vehicles, the savings can be 30 crores. He said that the use of 10,000 electric vehicles in Delhi alone can save 30 crores every month.
Center and states put emphasis on electric vehicle
The central and state governments are promoting electric vehicles to get rid of pollution. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently said that he is going to convert all the vehicles of his ministry into electric vehicles. He also asked other departments to follow it so that India’s dependence on oil imports can be reduced. He said that the use of 10 thousand electric buses in Delhi alone will save Rs 30 crore every month.
At the same time, in the promotion of EV, the Delhi government has announced a subsidy on electric vehicles under the Switch Delhi campaign. Simultaneously, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has approved bids for the purchase of 300 electric buses on Monday.
With this government initiative, most of the auto companies are focused towards electric vehicles. In the coming years, companies are about to launch many EV models, this includes names ranging from Skoda, Tata, Mahindra to Audi and Tesla. Even Ola has completed preparations to start a manufacturing plant for electric vehicles. It is believed that the number of electric vehicles will be seen more on the roads in the coming two-three years.
