Thiruvananthapuram. In the last one day in Kerala, 9,066 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported. While 19 patients have died. In a release issued by the Government of Kerala, it was said that after the arrival of new cases, the total cases increased to 52,91,280.
The state recorded 296 more deaths from COVID-19. Out of this, 19 deaths have been registered in the last few days. Whereas on 277, the death due to COVID was registered on the basis of the directions of the Center and the Supreme Court.

So far 50,053 patients have died due to the epidemic in Kerala. According to the release, 44,441 patients are currently under treatment in the state.
Till yesterday, 345 Omicron cases have been reported including 155 people discharged. It shows cases are increasing due to the Delta variant. Both Delta and Omicron variants are present. Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, “Till yesterday 345 cases of Omicron have been reported, out of which 155 people have been discharged. This suggests that the cases are increasing due to the delta variant. Both Delta and Omicron variants are available. There has been a 100% increase in cases in a week.”
He said, “The vaccination coverage of the first dose in the state is 99% and that of the second dose is 82%. Vaccination for children aged 15 to 18 years is 39%. A total of 60,421 people have taken the ‘Booster Dose’.” (with agency input)
