CBSE will announce the dates for the first term board exams of class 10th and 12th on October 18. Subject wise exam date and time-table can be seen on CBSE’s site cbse.nic.in or cbseacademic.nic.in. The first term exams will be held from November to December 2021. It will have all multiple choice questions i.e. Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ). The questions will be asked according to the syllabus of the first term only. Class-room studies were curtailed due to COVID-19. Because of this CBSE has reduced the syllabus.
How long will the exam be?
The examinations will be in Objective Type Format. Each subject will be of 90 minutes duration. In the second term, objective type questions will be asked along with short and long answer questions. This exam will be of two hours. Due to cold weather, the examinations will be held from 11.30 am instead of 10.30 am.
After the first term examination only marks will be given, not pass-fail
According to CBSE’s Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj, only the marks obtained by the students will be shown in the results after the first term (Term-1) examinations. No one will be placed in pass, compartment or repeat category on the basis of first term examination. The results will be declared only after the first and second term exams.
Practical or internal examinations will be held in the school
Practical or internal examinations will be held in the school itself. These examinations will be held before the written examinations of the first term. The first term examinations will be of 50% marks of the total marks. The scheme of examination will be sent to the schools by CBSE soon so that they can prepare themselves. Bhardwaj said that the second term exam will be held in March-April.
