Wayne Rooney has been sacked as Birmingham City supervisor after lower than three months on the helm.
The former England and Manchester United captain took over from John Eustace on 11 October on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
But he has seen his staff lose 9 of the 15 matches they’ve performed since he took over, leaving the membership in twentieth place within the Championship desk.
Birmingham suffered a 3-0 defeat at Leeds on New Year’s Day, prompting the transfer to dismiss Rooney and first staff coach, Carl Robinson.
The membership’s chief government Garry Cook stated: “We are dedicated to doing what is critical to convey success to St. Andrew’s.
“Unfortunately, Wayne’s time with us did not go as planned and we have decided to move in a different direction.
“The seek for a successor begins with instant impact and we’ll replace supporters when now we have additional information.”
Rooney was the primary managerial rent by new Birmingham proprietor Tom Wagner and his Knighthead Capital Management group, which purchased the Championship membership in August.
He stated in a press release that “soccer is a outcomes enterprise – and I recognise they haven’t been on the degree I wished them to be.
“However, time is the most precious commodity a manager requires and I do not believe 13 weeks was sufficient to oversee the changes that were needed.
“Personally, it is going to take me a while to recover from this setback. I’ve been concerned in skilled soccer, as both a participant or supervisor, since I used to be 16. Now, I plan to take a while with my household as I put together for the following alternative in my journey as a supervisor.
“I would like to thank Tom Wagner, Tom Brady and Garry Cook for the opportunity to manage Birmingham City FC and the support they all gave me during my short period with the club.
“Finally, I want Birmingham City FC and its homeowners my finest needs within the pursuit of their ambitions.”
Speaking after Monday’s defeat, he said: “I’m a fighter and I get soccer followers’ opinions.
“I have to draw on my career, my playing career wasn’t always about success. I was in a relegation battle with Everton, I believe in myself.”
