US mid-term elections: The youngest individual to be elected to the Illinois General Assembly, Nabeela Syed has written historical past. The 23-year-old Indian-American received the current US midterm elections over her Republican challenger Chris Bos. In the race for the 51st District seat within the Illinois State House of Representatives, she obtained 52.3% of the vote.
Mss. Syed wrote on Twitter about his pleasure: “My name is Nabeela Syed. I am a 23-year-old Muslim, Indian-American woman. We just flipped a Republican-held suburban district.”

“And in January, I’ll be the youngest member of the Illinois General Assembly,” she continued.
