July 4, 2021 marks the 245th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. The Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining the decision of the 13 colonies of Great Britain to declare themselves independent from colonial rule, was approved by the US Congress on July 4, 1776. However, the actual resolution of independence was passed two days back. It was passed on 2 July, when the 13 colonies were legally separated from the rule of Great Britain.
