A 26-year-old man who died after being hit by a van which drove into a gaggle of individuals in a Derbyshire city centre has been named.
Samuel Wilson, from Long Eaton, was struck by the car, alongside two different males, in Ilkeston simply after 2am on Saturday.
He died on the scene whereas the opposite victims had been taken to hospital.
The pair have since been discharged and are recovering at dwelling, police stated.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary stated: “Our ideas are with Samuel’s household at this distressing time.
“They have asked for privacy from the media as they continue to come to terms with their loss.”
A 27-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of homicide shortly afterwards, stays in custody.
More than £7,000 has been raised for Mr Wilson’s household on a JustGiving on-line fundraising web page.
His sister wrote on the web site there have been “no words” to explain the household’s loss.
She stated: “Our hearts will forever be broken, and there are no words to describe the huge hole it has left in all of our hearts.”

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Croome stated officers had been reviewing CCTV footage from the scene of the incident in Market Place.
He added: “I would like to thank all those who have come forward and spoken to us as part of our enquiries so far.
“We would notably like to listen to from anybody who might have witnessed or have any details about stories of an altercation at The Market Inn shortly earlier than the incident.”
Police have stated the incident just isn’t believed to be terror-related.
