Police in London are investigating a suspected arson assault on the workplace of Conservative MP Mike Freer.
The fireplace began round 7pm on Christmas Eve in a shed on the MP’s workplace at Ballards Lane in Finchley, north London.
Police and the London Fire Brigade had been referred to as to the scene.
The Metropolitan Police mentioned the reason for the fireplace was being investigated “as it is believed it may have been started deliberately”.
The drive added there have been no stories of any accidents.
Mr Freer instructed the PA information company that the rear of the constructing had been broken.

He mentioned the response from police and the fireplace brigade was “excellent” they usually had been “on site in minutes”.
“The police are nonetheless investigating and testing CCTV footage. Until the suspects are caught we can’t know the motivation.
“Luckily no one was in the office at the time,” he added.
The Finchley and Golders Green MP has represented the constituency since 2010 and is parliamentary under-secretary on the Ministry of Justice.
