Male condoms are made from latex, polyurethane, polyisoprene or sheepskin. It can be worn only when the penis is stimulated. The female condom is made of polyurethane or nitrile. It is like a lubricated pouch with two ends, one end is open and the other is closed. It has two rings at the ends, which help to keep the condom in the right place inside the vagina. When used according to the instructions on the pack, male condoms are 98% effective and female condoms are 95% effective. Both male and female condoms have a failure rate of 14% and 21%, respectively, if not used according to the instructions on the pack.
