Three Arkansas law enforcement officials have been suspended following social media outrage over a video that seemingly exhibits them assaulting a suspect below arrest.
Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante mentioned two county deputies and a Mulberry officer have been suspended.
An announcement from Crawford County Sheriff’s Office mentioned: “In reference to the video circulating social media involving two Crawford County Deputies, we have requested that Arkansas State Police conduct the investigation and the Deputies have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
“I maintain all my staff accountable for his or her actions and can take acceptable measures on this matter.”
Arkansas Governor of Asa Hutchinson tweeted: “I’ve spoken with Col. Bill Bryant of the Arkansas State Police and the native arrest incident in Crawford County can be investigated pursuant to the video proof and the request of the prosecuting legal professional.”
Police mentioned when the officers confronted the person on Sunday morning, he pushed a deputy to the bottom and punched the again of his head, resulting in his arrest.
A video exhibits three officers on high of the suspect, typically putting him with clenched fists.
