In Russia, 669 patients died due to Coronavirus for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, which is the highest number of daily deaths due to the epidemic. On Tuesday, 652 patients died of COVID-19. Russia’s official coronavirus task force has been registering more than 20,000 cases of infection and nearly 600 deaths per day since last Thursday.
On Wednesday, 21,042 cases of infection were registered. Russian officials are blaming the negligence of the public for this. Although Russia is among the countries that first developed the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, so far only 15 percent of the country’s population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Vaccination campaign will save from new wave
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope on Wednesday that there will be no need to impose a lockdown again in the country amid increasing new cases of infection. In a live TV program, Putin said that decisions taken by local authorities in many areas that have made vaccinations mandatory for some workers will help prevent a new wave of infections and avoid lockdown.
Russia has been struggling in recent weeks to cope with a surge in infections and deaths amid a relatively slow pace of vaccination. Deaths due to the corona virus in Russia reached a new daily record on Wednesday with officials reporting 669 new deaths.
Vaccine made first but vaccination behind
Every day since last Thursday, more than 20,000 new cases of corona virus infection and about 600 people are dying in Russia. On Wednesday, 21,042 new cases of infection were registered. Russian officials have blamed the rise in infections since early June on the carelessness of Russian citizens to take necessary precautions, the presence of more infectious forms and slow vaccination rates.
Russia may be one of the first countries to announce and start using a corona virus vaccine, but only 15 percent of its population has had at least one vaccine. Russia’s Corona Virus Task Force has confirmed more than 5.5 million cases and 1,35,214 deaths in the global pandemic.
