A suspected machete attacker has been arrested after a lot of individuals have been taken to hospital with slash wounds close to Liverpool FC’s stadium.
Merseyside Police was known as simply after 5.30pm to Arkles Lane, Anfield, to a report of a person strolling round shouting at individuals and carrying what was described as a machete.
It was reported he assaulted a lot of individuals, with some victims attending hospital and receiving remedy after struggling slash wounds.
None of them are believed to have sustained life-threatening accidents.
The man, who’s from the realm, was detained a short while later in Stanley Park, earlier than being arrested and brought into custody for questioning.
Police say the incident will not be believed to be terror-related and the suspect is believed to have psychological well being points.
Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings stated: “This incident will have been frightening for those assaulted as well as those who witnessed it, and we will provide them with our full support.
“I perceive that the circumstances can be scary too for the broader neighborhood in Anfield.
“Thankfully, specialist officers attended swiftly, arrested a suspect and brought an end to the incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“While we don’t consider anybody else was accountable, additional officers can be deployed on excessive visibility patrols within the Anfield space within the coming days to reassure the neighborhood.”
Dan Carden, the MP for Liverpool Walton, said: “Horrified by studies of the scenario in Anfield this night. I’m in contact with Merseyside Police, who’ve made an arrest and say that there isn’t any ongoing menace to the general public, and fortunately no life-threatening accidents reported.”
