A individuals smuggler who tried to illegally convey a Vietnamese girl into the UK by stuffing her behind the dashboard of his automobile has been jailed.
Jozef Balog, 33, was given a two-and-a-half-year sentence at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting a cost of aiding illegal immigration.
The Slovakian nationwide was stopped by UK Border Force in Coquelles, northern France in June 2022, in accordance with the Home Office.
Balog had claimed he was returning to his house in Manchester after visiting household.
Officers searched his Vauxhall Vectra, and seen the carpet was additional ahead into the footwell than common.
They proceeded to take away the glovebox and located a Vietnamese girl sitting cramped behind the dashboard.

Calling it a “truly shocking case”, Home Office deputy director of prison and monetary investigations, Steve Blackwell added it “shows the callous disregard these criminals have for the lives and safety of the vulnerable people they exploit”.
He mentioned: “We have once again shown that those who seek to exploit our border will be caught and brought to justice.”
Balog has already served the jail sentence as he pleaded responsible to the cost in June 2022, and was in custody for 40 months.
The Vietnamese girl was recognized, deemed to be an unlawful entrant, and served with the required paperwork.
