The Scout Association and considered one of its staff have been referred to police following an inquest into the loss of life of a 16-year-old boy.
Ben Leonard, 16, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, fell 200ft off a cliff whereas on a Scout journey to North Wales in 2018.
He suffered a critical head harm after the autumn at Great Orme in Llandudno on 26 August 2018.
A coroner has referred the organisation and the worker, who can’t be named resulting from a court docket order, for investigation for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
A jury discovered Ben was unlawfully killed after a two-month inquest at Manchester Civil Courts of Justice.
For authorized causes, juries can’t identify any people in conclusions.
The inquest heard Ben and two pals took a unique path to their friends and have been unsupervised by Scout leaders who had “lost” the trio.
David Pojur, assistant coroner for North Wales, east and central, has referred The Scout Association and an worker to North Wales Police.
Jurors weren’t instructed in regards to the police referral and the media have been ordered to not report it till the jury reached their conclusions.
This was the third inquest into Ben’s loss of life, after the primary two have been each aborted.
At the start of the newest inquest, The Scout Association accepted accountability for Ben’s loss of life for the primary time and publicly apologised.

However, Jackie Leonard, Ben’s mom, instructed the listening to the apology was five-and-a-half years too late.
She mentioned the remedy of her household had been “disgusting”.
Ben was a “thoughtful, very funny, extremely witty” boy who had deliberate to check TV and movie in school, his mom mentioned.
Ben Richmond KC, representing Ben’s household, mentioned his life might have been saved if it weren’t for the “basic failure of care” to offer easy security directions.
