An unmanned cargo vehicle of Russia was launched on Wednesday to supply goods to the International Space Station. Progress MS-17 was launched on Tuesday at 11.27 pm international time on a Soyuz rocket from Russia’s space center in Baikonur, Kazakhstan.
It has carried food, fuel, equipment and other items for the existing seven astronauts in the space station. These astronauts are NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei, Shane Kimbrough and Megan MacArthur, Russia’s Oleg Novitsky and Pyotr Dubrov, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet.
Departed with a weight of 1,633 kg
After taking off in space, the spacecraft will spend two days in orbit before docking at the spacestation at 1:02 GMT on July 2. The spacecraft weighs more than 3,600 pounds, which is about 1,633 kilograms, which includes things like food, fuel and lab supplies.
After arriving at the space station, it will dock with the station’s Poisk module on the Russian segment of the station, where it will spend the next five months.
In the past, Russia’s space agency Roskosmos had said that if the US does not lift the space restrictions imposed on it, then it will separate itself from the International Space Station. Space Agency Director General Dmitry Rogozin said that either the two countries work together, for which America will have to lift the sanctions on Russia, or we will separate and set up our own space station.
Russia upset with US sanctions
This war between America and Russia started in the Trump administration. The Trump administration had banned some Russian companies for having links with the Russian military. During this, 42 other Russian and 58 Chinese companies were placed in the category of sanctions. Let us tell you that China has established its own space station in space. Along with this, his rover has also successfully landed on Mars. At the same time, the US Space Agency is preparing to send a man to the moon once by 2024.
