The emblem for King Charles’s coronation, created by former Apple designer Sir Jony Ive, has been unveiled.
The design guru created the insignia taking inspiration from His Majesty’s “love of the planet, nature, and his deep concern for the natural world”.
Sir Jony – who’s credited because the inventive thoughts behind the iPhone – and his inventive collective, LoveFrom, have produced the picture to honour Charles’s reign.
It includes a stylised picture of the crown of St Edward, which can be used within the ceremony, created from the rose of England, thistle of Scotland, daffodil of Wales and the shamrock of Northern Ireland, within the crimson, white and blue of the Union flag.
Sir Jony stated: “It is such an honour to be able to contribute to this remarkable national occasion, and our team is so very proud of this work.
“The design was impressed by King Charles’s love of the planet, nature, and his deep concern for the pure world.
“The emblem speaks to the happy optimism of spring and celebrates the beginning of this new Carolean era for the United Kingdom.
“The light modesty of those pure types mix to outline an emblem that acknowledges each the joyful and profound significance of this event.”
