Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and singer Cassie have settled a lawsuit alleging abuse – sooner or later after she sued the highly effective music producer.
The R&B singer – actual title Casandra Ventura – had alleged that she was trafficked, raped, plied with medication and viciously overwhelmed by the rapper on many events over the course of 10 years.
In an announcement, a lawyer for Combs had stated he “vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations”.
The settlement was introduced in a launch despatched by lawyer Douglas Wigdor, who represents Ventura.
The launch stated they’d reached a deal to their “mutual satisfaction” on Friday night, however no phrases of the settlement had been disclosed.
Both Ventura and Combs launched statements.
Ventura stated in her assertion: “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Her lawyer, Mr Wigdor, stated in his assertion: “I am very proud of Ms Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so.”
Combs stated in his assertion: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Combs, 54, is among the many most influential hip-hop producers and executives of the previous 30 years.
He and Ventura started relationship in 2007 and had an on-and-off relationship for greater than a decade.
