Malala Yousafzai: People of Pakistan often express their displeasure towards Malala Yousafzai. Now the latest case is related to the chapter in which Malala’s picture is printed.
Pakistanis opposing Malala (Pakistani’s on Malala Yousafzai)
Malala in Pakistan School Books: The people of Pakistan have demanded on social media that Malala Yousafzai should not be taught in books. The name of Malala Yousafzai is also included in the chapter ‘Important People of Pakistan’ in a school book in Punjab province here. On which people have lodged objections. A social media user is sharing a picture of the book, which has pictures of Alama Iqbal, Chaudhry Rahmat Ali, Liaquat Ali Khan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali and Abdul Sittar Egi along with Malala’s picture.
People have demanded from the provincial government that Malala’s picture should be removed from the book. A user has appealed to the people to tell him the date of publication of the book (Malala Yousafzai in School Books). While some others believe that this picture is probably fake. The provincial government has not said anything in the matter so far. A similar case was seen earlier in Sindh province.
The name of the school named Malala
The government had decided to rename a government school in Karachi to Malala Yousafzai. People have opposed this too. The Seth Coovarji Khimji Lohana Gujarati School here was renamed as Malala Yousafzai Government Girls’ Secondary School (Malala in Pakistan School Books). Which is located on Mission Road, Karachi. Objecting to this, people shared the picture of the school on social media and said that Malala’s name should be removed and the history of the city should not be ruined.
Education Minister requested
Human rights activist Kapil Dev said in response to a tweet, “We request the Education Minister of the Government of Sindh, Saeed Ghani, to review his decision again.” He said that another school could be built by the name of Malala Yousafzai. Another user said that history has the name Seth Coovarji Khimji Lohana, which needs to be preserved. His name suggests the contribution of the Gujarati Sindhi Community in making Karachi.
