Baby Shylo is just some hours previous. She was born three weeks prematurely in Coventry Hospital and is likely one of the National Health Service’s latest sufferers.

Mrs Amankwa-Mainu has little question about whose facet she is taking on this dispute.
“The government needs to listen to doctors and nurses and people in the NHS and really sort it out,” she says unequivocally.
Shylo and her proud mom are below the watchful eye of midwife Channel Griffiths.
Her division, she says, like in all places else within the NHS is struggling to cope with workforce shortages. There are different components too. Ms Griffiths says her expectant moms are getting older and with extra underlying well being situations.
“We need more midwives,” Ms Griffiths says.
“There are a lot more women now having children that have a lot more comorbidities and things like obesity. They’ve also got a chronic history of diabetes and high blood pressure, which makes them more high risk at the beginning of their pregnancy.”
Since its creation 75 years in the past, the NHS has introduced greater than 52 million infants into the world.
‘I assumed I used to be going to die’
Edwina Jones was born earlier than the NHS was created. On Saturday evening it saved her life.
She was rushed to Coventry Hospital with paramedics doing every thing to maintain her alive regardless of the 78-year-old grandmother fearing the worst.

Her granddaughter referred to as an ambulance which responded in minutes. Her arrival at hospital had been anticipated and a mattress was ready for her.
