Rail passengers are in for extra journey chaos as solely round one in 5 trains are set to run immediately as a result of one other strike.

Ahead of the strike General Secretary Mick Lynch wrote to Transport Secretary Anne Marie Trevelyan to induce her to “unshackle” the railway firms and permit them to achieve a settlement with the rail unions.
Mr Lynch wrote: “I am writing following your comments at the Conservative Party Conference last weekend in which you said that there is a ‘deal to be done’ between the rail unions and train companies in relation to the ongoing industrial disputes.
“I’m additionally hopeful {that a} negotiated settlement between the RMT and the employers might be reached.

In a press release, the Department for Transport urged union bosses to work with their employers “not against them”.
