Tensions on the border between India and China remain constant. There have been several rounds of military talks between the two countries but the dispute has not been resolved. Relations between the two countries are quite bad at the moment. A recent speech by India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar clearly showed that there is competition between India and China in the world and in Asia. At the same time India does not want itself as a South Asian player who wants China.
During a conference on Thursday, the Indian Foreign Minister made it clear that the only way to resolve the dispute between the two countries is that the deployment of troops from both countries will be returned to the place in April 2020. India has given a clear message to China that the relationship between the two countries is not one-sided.
He said that the Chinese government should follow all previous agreements. Simultaneously, China should avoid making unilateral changes to the LAC. We can reach a solution only when there is trust among each other and feelings will not be ignored. India has said that China should guarantee that China will not repeat aggression on the border. Only then will India defeat its forces.
In his speech at the conference, the Foreign Minister said that China is using Pakistan against India in the midst of the dispute and New Delhi is expected to remain neutral in its foreign policy. China used Pakistan to prevent India from joining the Nuclear Suppliers Group. China also supported Pakistan in saving Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar and Pakistan and China also tried to implicate the Indian engineer working in Afghanistan in case of terror.
He said that while China is still talking about peace in East Ladakh and withdrawal of troops from New Delhi on the one hand, on the other hand, it is taking steps to create tension on the border in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. China prevents and threatens India from raising the issue of Tibet in other forums, while China on the other hand does not respect Indian sovereignty by building projects in Gwadar and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The Indian Foreign Minister indicated in his speech that if China would do anything against India, now India would not ignore it. The ball is now in China’s court.
