Through its Metaverse project, the company will offer virtual food and beverage products as well as downloadable artwork, text, audio, video and NFT token multimedia files.
In the application for trademark, the company wrote (Translated ,) “Operating Virtual Restaurant with Actual and Virtual Goods, Operating Online Virtual Restaurant with Home Delivery Feature.”
Details on the home delivery part of the project are not yet clear. In addition, McDonald’s is also considering associating its McCafe brand with the Metaverse project. In which there will also be virtual events and entertainment services.
A few days earlier, Gerben had also tweeted about bakery and cafe chain Panera Bread that the company has filed an application for a similar trademark.
According to a report by CoinTelegraph, the average time taken by the US Patent and Trademark Office to review a trademark application is 9 and a half months. However, there has been no official confirmation about this news from McDonald’s. Last year McDonald’s US launched the first NFT to mark the 40th anniversary of the McRib sandwich.
