A hospital nurse murdered a five-day-old child by injecting air into his abdomen via a nostril tube, a courtroom has heard.
Lucy Letby allegedly killed the child boy, baby C, simply six days after murdering for the primary time, when she killed one other child boy, baby A, and days later attacked baby B, whereas working on the neo-natal unit on the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Letby, 32, denies seven counts of homicide and 10 counts of tried homicide.
Child C died as a result of the air injected into his abdomen made him unable to breathe and he suffered a cardiac arrest, Nick Johnson KC, advised the jury on the second day of the prosecution opening at Manchester Crown Court.
The boy had been born prematurely at 30 weeks on 10 June 2015 weighing solely 800 grams, however regardless of going into intensive care was in good situation.
