Nepal Earthquake: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit the western Lamjung district of Nepal Earthquake Today on Wednesday, injuring at least six people and damaging dozens of houses. Officials have given information about this matter. The quake came at 5:42 am, with its epicenter located in the Marshyangdi Rural Municipality of the district. The Kathmandu Post reported that about two dozen houses were damaged and six people were injured due to the 5.8 magnitude earthquake (Nepal Earthquake Disaster).
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, two tremors of magnitude 4.0 were also recorded at 8:16 am and 5.3 am at 8 am later in the district. Nearly 20 small tremors were felt since 10 am in the district after the first earthquake (Nepal Earthquake Building Collapse). According to District Police Office inspector Jagdish Regmi, six people were injured in the earthquake. He said, “Three people were injured when a house wall fell, while the other three people were injured while running away.”
The woman was buried in the rubble
All the injured were taken to the nearest hospital in Lamjung where their condition is said to be normal. According to the news of The Himalayan Times, a woman was found half buried because her house had collapsed. She was sleeping during the earthquake. The locals rescued him and rushed him to the hospital (Nepal Earthquake Aftershocks). The report said that after the incident, people have expressed anger over the apathy of the police. The earthquake was also felt in neighboring districts of Manang, Kaski and Gorkha.
