Rail employees’ union RMT has introduced extra strikes subsequent month following what it stated was a pay provide “U-turn” from Network Rail.
Three days of strike motion are set to happen on 3, 5 and seven November.
Negotiations had been below approach between the union and the rail operator.
The RMT stated there had been an settlement that Network Rail would decide to an improved provide on pay and work in the direction of a negotiated settlement however the firm “reneged on their promises of an improved pay offer and sought to impose job cuts, more unsocial hours and detrimental changes to rosters”.
The strikes are happening because the rail firm “attempted to impose drastic changes in working practices”.
The union stated Network Rail wrote on to workers to undermine talks and have tried to rehash a beforehand rejected deal.
RMT workers will even strike on 3 November in a separate dispute with London Underground and Overground networks (Arriva Rail London).
RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch stated: “On the one hand they (Network Rail) were telling our negotiators that they were prepared to do a deal, while planning to torpedo negotiations by imposing unacceptable changes to our members’ terms and conditions.
“Our members are furious with these duplicitous ways, and they’ll now reply in type with sustained strike motion.”
The newest announcement follows months of strike motion from the union as they search to halt redundancies and enhance pay and circumstances.
