The Metropolitan Police has defended its officers after a suspect was tasered and two canines have been shot in entrance of shocked witnesses.
Footage on social media confirmed officers pursuing a person holding the 2 canines on a lead alongside a canal in Limehouse, east London on Sunday.
The scenario then appeared to turn into heated, with witnesses heard screaming, as the person was tasered to the bottom and the animals have been shot useless.
Officers had arrived on the scene after receiving a report of a lady being attacked by a canine.
In an announcement, the power stated: “Police have been referred to as simply after 5pm on Sunday May 7 to a lady being attacked by a canine in Commercial Road, E14.
“Officers attended the location where the aggressive behaviour of two dogs was of considerable concern and posed a significant threat to them.
“A person was arrested in reference to the incident for having a canine dangerously uncontrolled and assault offences. He has been taken into police custody.
“A Taser was discharged by police.”

The assertion continued: “No person was taken to hospital.
“Both canines have been destroyed by police on the scene.
“This is never an easy decision for any officer to take, but police have a duty to act where necessary before any further injury is caused.
“The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards will evaluate the circumstances of the incident.”
