Police have launched a homicide investigation and are on the hunt for the associate of a pregnant instructor who was discovered lifeless in Glasgow.
Officers are trying to find David Yates after the physique of Marelle Sturrock, 35, was found at a property within the metropolis’s Jura Street on Tuesday morning.
On Thursday, Police Scotland confirmed that Ms Sturrock was 29 weeks pregnant.
Detective Superintendent Nicola Kilbane stated: “I can confirm that sadly her unborn baby did not survive.”
DS Kilbane added: “Her partner David Yates is wanted in connection with Marelle’s death. At this time we have no information to suggest anyone else has been involved.”
Yates’s white Seat Ateca was found at Mugdock Country Park 9 miles away on Tuesday, sparking a serious police search.
Police divers have been noticed on the East Dunbartonshire park and elements of the reservoir have been taped off, with officers standing guard.
DS Kilbane stated: “The last confirmed sighting of David was on Sunday evening shortly after 8pm.
“His subsequent actions are unknown after his car was left at Mugdock Country Park however there’s nothing to counsel he has left the world.
“We will keep an open mind on this as we continue to search the area.”
A visual police presence will stay at each Jura Street and Mugdock Country Park because the investigation continues.
There shouldn’t be believed to be any threat to the broader public.

Paying tribute after, headteacher Fiona Donnelly stated: “She was a lovely, kind, diligent and considerate person who loved and made time for everyone.”
Ms Sturrock was from the Scottish Highlands however moved to Glasgow when she was 17 to pursue a profession within the performing arts.
She later grew to become a major college instructor after finishing her postgraduate diploma in schooling.
Ms Donnelly added: “We are a school community in mourning and are devastated by the tragic news of her death and pass on our deepest condolences to her family and friends as we all come to terms with our loss.”
