An skilled hillwalker spent greater than 24 hours caught on a cliff edge above a Highland loch earlier than being rescued.
The 72-year-old man grew to become stranded and was “unable to go forward or back” within the Kinloch Hourn space at Loch Hourn on Sunday afternoon.
The space is broadly thought to be some of the inaccessible wildernesses within the UK.
Due to the distant location and lack of cell sign, the pensioner was unable to contact the Coastguard till Monday.
Kyle RNLI lifeboat crew set sail at round 1.20pm after the alarm was raised. The rescue operation, involving members of Glenelg Mountain Rescue Team, lasted greater than six hours.
At one level the person noticed the rescue crew, however they had been too distant for him to sign to the crew.
The rescuers, who needed to head again out of the loch to re-establish communications with the Coastguard, finally discovered the person on a small ledge simply above the waterline at 7pm. He was reunited together with his household in Kyle of Lochalsh round half-hour later.

A Kyle RNLI spokesman stated: “This gentleman is an skilled walker who had sadly change into trapped in an inconceivable state of affairs, unable to go ahead or again.
“Due to the location, he had no mobile signal from the time he had become trapped until Monday lunchtime, when he noticed he had a very weak one.
