A homicide investigation has been launched following a deadly capturing in Edinburgh on New Year’s Eve.
Police have been referred to as to the Granton space of the metropolis following experiences of two males being critically injured after a firearm was discharged in Granton Crescent at round 11.50pm on Sunday.
Emergency companies attended and the 2 males have been taken to hospital.
A 38-year-old man was pronounced useless a short while later and a 39-year-old man stays in hospital in a critical however steady situation.
On Monday, Police Scotland stated the drive was treating the dying as homicide and investigating officers consider the capturing was focused.
Detective Superintendent Graham Grant stated: “This is believed to have been a targeted incident and our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of both men involved.
“Enquiries are at a really early stage to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding what occurred, and whereas officers have already gathered CCTV and spoken to numerous individuals who have been within the space on the time, I’d urge anybody with info who hasn’t but spoken to us to return ahead.”

DS Grant added: “This incident will undoubtedly have caused concern in the local community and officers will be carrying out extra patrols of the area and I’d like to reassure the public that everything possible is being done to trace whoever is responsible.”
