A 47-year-old man has died and three folks have been injured in a collection of incidents by which a firearm was discharged on the isle of Skye and Wester Ross, Scotland, police have mentioned.
Police have been first referred to as to the Tarskavaig space in Skye shortly earlier than 9am after experiences of a 32-year-old lady struggling with critical accidents at a property.
She was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for therapy.
Another incident at a property within the Teangue space of Skye was reported after 9.30am after a firearm was discharged.
Officers and emergency providers attended the scene, however a 47-year-old man was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
Police then have been referred to as to a property within the Dornie space in Wester Ross following an extra firearm discharge at a property.
A person has been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for therapy with critical accidents, and a girl was taken to Broadford Hospital.
Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in reference to all of the incidents, that are being handled as linked.
He was taken to Raigmore Hospital.
Kate Forbes, MSP for Skye, Lochaber & Badenoch described the information as “one of the worst days that I can recall in the history of Skye and Lochalsh”.
The investigations are being led by Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, supporting native officers.
Chief Superintendent Conrad Trickett, native policing commander for Highlands and Islands Division, mentioned: “Incidents such as this are thankfully extremely rare but I understand that this will have a significant effect on the local community in these rural areas.
“I wish to reassure folks that we’re treating these incidents as contained with no wider menace to the general public.
“There will a significant police presence in the area over the coming days and we will be working with partners to provide support to the local community. I would like to thank people for their co-operation as our investigation progresses.”
