A person has died after an explosion in Dublin metropolis centre.
The blast occurred in a hostel and was confined to at least one room.
Irish police stated a person was fatally injured and there have been no different accidents reported.
Officers and Dublin Fire Brigade had been known as to Little Britain Street following experiences of a blast inside a Depaul homeless hostel after 3.30pm on Thursday.
The reason behind the explosion is beneath investigation as police look at the positioning.
It is known officers didn’t suspect foul play of their preliminary evaluation of the scene.
Residents have been evacuated from the premises and a cordon was in place.
Depaul stated it was working with the Dublin Regional Homelessness Executive (DRHE) and was searching for different locations for the residents.

In a press release, the corporate stated: “Depaul can confirm that there was an incident this afternoon in our Little Britain Street service.
“It was a localised incident confined to at least one room. All service customers might be evacuated from the constructing tonight and different placements might be discovered.
“Depaul are working with the DRHE and our NGO partners to ensure no person will be left without accommodation this evening.”
