A person has been arrested within the Royal Mews subsequent to Buckingham Palace.
Police had been alerted to an individual climbing a wall and coming into the prohibited space at 1.25am on Saturday.
Following a search, a 25-year-old man was detained by officers outdoors the stables within the Royal Mews, which backs on to the palace backyard.
Scotland Yard mentioned in an announcement: “At no point did the man enter Buckingham Palace or the palace gardens.
“The man has been arrested beneath the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act for trespassing on a protected web site.
“He has been taken into custody at a London police station where he remains.”
Buckingham Palace confirmed no members of the Royal Family had been in residence on the time.
