An 18-year-old man has been stabbed to loss of life and a teenage boy left significantly injured after a “violent attack” in Leeds, police stated.
A homicide investigation has been launched after the pair had been stabbed within the Armley space of town shortly earlier than 5.30pm on Friday.
West Yorkshire Police stated the victims had been attacked once they had been in a taxi and officers are looking three suspect seen in one other car.
The 18-year-old man was taken to hospital the place he was pronounced useless a short while later.
The 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with critical injures however they aren’t believed to be life threatening.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Townley stated: “Extensive enquiries are being carried out in relation to this murder investigation, our thoughts remain with the victim who has lost his life as a result of a violent attack on the streets of Leeds.
“We are working to ascertain the total circumstances surrounding this incident.
“What we do know is that the two males were in a taxi at the time when they were attacked by three suspects in another vehicle.”
He added: “This incident will undoubtably cause concern in the community and we are working with our colleagues in the Neighbourhood Policing team to step up patrols and provide extra reassurance.”
Police cordons are in place on Hall Road and Brentwood Terrace as forensic examination and specialist searches.
