Louis Theroux has shared an replace on his facial hair loss – revealing his famously expressive eyebrows have been affected.
The documentary maker had beforehand shared a photograph on social media earlier this yr that confirmed gaps in his facial hair, and stated it “probably” resulted from alopecia.
On Monday, the 53-year-old posted a clip on Instagram alongside the hashtag alopecia, exhibiting a big portion of hair from his eyebrows had gone.
Theroux wrote: “I’d like to know how I’m supposed to continue a career based largely on raising and lowering different eyebrows WITHOUT ANY EYEBROWS!!
“I’m significantly pondering of getting them tattooed again on but it surely looks like an enormous step! Thoughts?”

Theroux has been candid about his experiences with hair loss. In July, he wrote on Instagram: “Oh jeez it looks like the alopecia has migrated up to my eyebrow.
“I realise you are not all awaiting each replace on its progress however I need individuals to acclimatise to the brand new partially depilated me and never freak everybody out by instantly showing in public like a half-plucked elephant chicken with no forewarning.
“So this is where we’re at. I’d really like to keep my eyebrows, but it’s out of my hands at this point … tho I have started taking vitamin d and something called biotin.”
Alopecia is the medical time period for hair loss and may come in several types, together with “thinning” of the hair or complete lack of hair, in line with the NHS.
