Actress Jacqueline Fernandez on Monday said the citizens of Sri Lanka need sympathy and support amid the country’s worst economic crisis. Fernandez is a citizen of Sri Lanka. He wrote a post on Instagram praying for peace in his country. Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since independence from Britain in 1948. This has been partly due to a shortage of foreign exchange, which is used to pay for fuel imports. People have been troubled for weeks due to long queues for fuel, cooking gas, short supply of essential commodities and hours of power cuts.
The actress wrote, “As a Sri Lankan it is very sad to see what my country and countrymen are going through. Ever since it started from all over the world, many thoughts are coming in my mind. I would say don’t rush to take decisions on the basis of what is being shown and don’t defame any group on the basis of that.
