Indian Family Arrested in Sri Lanka: An Indian family has been arrested in Sri Lanka. They have been accused of living illegally in this country. Four members of an Indian family, including two children, have been arrested for illegally entering the country’s Jaffna peninsula, violating local immigration and Isolation Rules. Police said on Thursday that the family consists of a 61-year-old woman, her 34-year-old daughter and her two children.
These people reached Sri Lanka on May 6 with the help of fishermen. Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajit Rohana said that family members have been arrested (Indian Family Arrested) from Gurunagar area of Jaffna on charges of illegal stay in the country, violation of immigration and isolation rules. Rohana told, “They came from India on May 6 via an Indian ferry and they decided the rest of the way on a fishing Sri Lankan ferry.”
