In an interview to PBS NewsHour, Imran Khan said that Taliban fighters are normal civilians like us.
Pakistan PM Imran Khan
In the eyes of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Taliban fighters who massacred Afghanistan are like normal civilians. Imran Khan said that Taliban is not a military organization, but ordinary citizens. The Pakistani PM also questioned how his country would deal with the fighters, when there are 3 million Afghan refugees on the country’s border. In an interview to PBS NewsHour, Imran said, a large number of refugees are Pashtuns, Taliban fighters also come from this community.
Imran Khan argued, ‘Somewhere there is a camp of five lakh people, and somewhere there is a camp of one lakh people. And the Taliban are not a military organization, they are ordinary citizens. And if there are some civilians (Taliban fighters) in these camps, how will Pakistan hunt these people? How can you call them safe havens?’ Imran’s face was worth seeing when asked about the alleged safe havens of the Taliban in Pakistan. Taking some time, the Pakistan PM said, ‘Where are these safe havens? There are three million refugees in Pakistan who are the same ethnic group as the Taliban.
Pakistan has nothing to do in US attack
Pakistan has long been accused of helping the Taliban with military, economic and intelligence inputs in the organization’s fight against the Afghan government. But Imran Khan termed these allegations as highly unfair. He said that thousands of Pakistanis lost their lives after the US War in Afghanistan, while Pakistan had nothing to do with the September 11, 2001 attack in New York. However, despite Imran Khan’s denial, the world knows that Pakistan has been a safe haven for terrorists.
Pakistani Taliban terrorists are active in Afghanistan
A few days ago, a report prepared by the UN Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team said that about 6,000 terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are active in Afghanistan. TTP is a terrorist organization with anti-Pakistan purpose. But it also supports Taliban terrorists against Afghan forces inside Afghanistan. The UN report states that the TTP has traditionally been present near the Pakistan border in the eastern districts of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
