Holidaymakers who left their vehicles at Luton Airport say they’ve been “left in limbo” after a car fireplace triggered a terminal automobile park to break down.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service declared a significant incident at 9.38pm on Tuesday and, at its peak, had 15 fireplace engines, three specialist aerial home equipment and greater than 100 firefighters on the scene.
Andrew Hopkinson, chief fireplace officer at Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, mentioned as many as 1,500 automobiles have been within the automobile park on the time – with as much as 1,200 believed to be broken.
