France Parliament Allows IVF For Lesbians Single Women: The doors of equality are slowly opening for the people of the LGBTQ community fighting for equal rights around the world. A bill has been passed in France, which has made lesbian couples very happy. Under this bill passed in Parliament on Tuesday, along with lesbian couples, now single women can also give birth to children through IVF. Under current French law, only heterosexual couples can use IVF-like methods.
On the other hand, lesbian couples and single women who want to have children, had to move to other countries to take advantage of IVF service. But now all this has changed in the law introduced by the Emmanuel Macron government. It was voted on in the National Assembly, the lower house of Parliament. In which the bill has been approved in 326 votes. The law will come into force after the signature of the executive. With this change, France will become, like the rest of Europe, Belgium and Spain, which are France’s favorite places for lesbian couples and single women to breed.
performances for two years
Regarding this, the Inter-LGBT Association says that it is happy about the change. Demonstrations were held for this right for the last two years and there was debate for about 500 hours. Earlier in 2017, President Macron promised during the election campaign that he was in favor of expanding services like fertility to lesbians and single women. But as soon as he became the President, his Centralist Party repeatedly kept away from this change.
people gave mixed opinion
Due to this, a lot of protests were seen in France. But people’s opinion about the change also seems to be divided. 67 percent of French people are expressing support for change, while those who oppose have spoken of demonstration. These include people campaigning against gay marriage. The proposed legislation was first approved by the National Assembly in October 2019, but then placed in the Senate. Under the bill, France’s healthcare system would cover the cost of reproductive procedures for all women under the age of 43.
