Though Ali might be sentenced at a later date, GMP’s Chief Constable dismissed Ali and ordered that he be barred from policing, when gross misconduct was confirmed in April 2022.
Following at this time’s conviction, the pressure will recommend to the Deputy Mayor that Ali needs to be ordered to forfeit his pension.

Mr McFarlane stated it’s “very shocking” Ali exploited his place as a police officer, including: “What is essential to determine is that no person coming into contact with law enforcement officials or employees needs to be uncovered to hurt, and clearly these younger individuals have had that have.
“Ali is responsible for the offences he committed, but I acknowledge that more could have been done to supervise him in his time at Greater Manchester Police.”
