Former Pakistan President and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chair Asif Ali Zardari was admitted to Karachi Hospital on Friday after he felt unwell. A senior party leader gave this information. PPP leader Munawar Anjum told news agency PTI-Bhasha that Zardari (65) was taken to the hospital on the advice of his doctors.
He told that he had come to Karachi from Islamabad on Friday. He told that the doctors took his blood samples and started the treatment. The Express Tribune, quoting party sources, said in its report that Zardari fell ill after traveling for court appearances and exhausted due to the budget session.

Anjum said that PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has canceled his visit to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where the election campaign is going on. He has reached Karachi to meet his father. Bilawal’s elder sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari also arrived from Dubai with her husband. Another sister of Bilawal, Asifa has also reached with him.
Anjum said that Zardari was attending the session of Parliament in Islamabad since Monday. Let us tell you that Zardari, the husband of the country’s first woman Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, was the President of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. In October last year, Zardari was admitted to a private hospital due to low levels of sugar in his blood.
Zardari battling heart ailment
The senior PPP leader is facing several corruption cases and was released in December 2019 after he was granted bail on medical grounds by the Islamabad High Court. Zardari is suffering from a heart condition that can lead to a lack of blood and oxygen supply to his heart.
Dr Asim Hussain said that the former President had a medical checkup at a private hospital, during which he complained of severe back pain. Talking to Geo News, he said that an orthopedic surgeon is treating Zardari and his necessary medical tests are being done.
