Firefighters have tackled an enormous blaze at a high-rise in Leeds metropolis centre, with a number of close by buildings evacuated.

West Yorkshire Fire Service stated: “Firefighters continue to battle fire at city centre building and are working with West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
“Cordon is in place and native buildings evacuated.”
Leeds City Council’s chief govt Tom Riordan thanked the fireplace service for his or her work in tackling the blaze.
