The household of a 15-year-old killed in a faculty bus crash on the Wirral has issued a tribute to her, saying she was a “warm hearted” woman whose dying has left “a massive void in our lives”.
In an announcement, Jessica Baker‘s household stated she was a “wonderful daughter, granddaughter and niece, devoted sister and loyal friend”.
“Her untimely death has led to a massive void in our lives that will never be filled.”
Her faculty additionally paid tribute, saying she was “unequivocally kind and empathetic… a dedicated friend who was a well-liked and respected member of our school community”.
It added: “She was an unassuming, polite and conscientious student who exemplified the values of our school.”
Jessica died when the bus she was travelling in to high school overturned on the M53. The driver additionally died, together with his household saying he was “suffering medical issues” whereas on the wheel.
Jessica’s household and her faculty each highlighted her sporting achievements.
She was a “talented climber”, her household stated, who “helped coach younger climbers and competed around the country inspiring others”.
Her faculty described her as a “eager sportswoman… demonstrating an unwavering love of – and dedication to – mountaineering. She beforehand represented Wales in nationwide competitions, the varsity added.
“Jessica will be greatly and sadly missed by her friends, teammates, classmates, and all at West Kirby Grammar School who had the pleasure and privilege to encounter her.”
