An aged man using a mobility scooter who was stabbed to dying in a “shocking act” of “unprovoked violence” in west London has been named by police as Thomas O’Halloran.
The assault on the 87-year-old occurred on Cayton Road in Greenford, Ealing, simply after 4pm on Tuesday.

She stated: “We always used to see him on his mobility scooter – he always used to smile, he was a nice old man.”
“This is a very quiet area, you never hear any noise on this street,” she added.
“It was just like a normal day today. There’s a parade of shops just round the corner under the train tracks and through an alleyway which he might have been heading from or to.”
