An aged man and lady have been killed in a head-on highway collision which left one other particular person injured within the Scottish Borders.
The 79-year-old man was driving a pink Kia Venga with the girl, 85, within the passenger seat after they had been concerned in a collision with a blue Kia Sportage on the A697 between Carfraemill and Greenlaw, close to the city of Lauder.
They had been each pronounced useless on the scene of the crash, which occurred round 4.30pm on Friday.
The feminine driver of the Kia Sportage was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for remedy, Police Scotland stated.
The highway was closed for seven hours after the collision.
Police have now launched an investigation, calling on any drivers who witnessed the crash or who’ve data or dashcam footage to get in contact.
Road Policing Sergeant Kosmas Papakyriakou stated: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of those involved in this incident.”

Woman hit by lorry on A2 in Kent
Elsewhere, a girl has died after being struck by a lorry on the A2 in Kent within the early hours of Saturday morning.
The sufferer is believed to have been travelling in a gray BMW which stopped on the coastbound carriageway.
She was declared useless on the scene of the incident, on the London-bound carriageway near Dartford Heath round 2.45am.
The driver of the white DAF lorry stopped following the collision.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched a probe which led to the highway being closed.
The coastbound carriageway has since reopened.
Anyone who has data or dashcam footage is urged to name 101.
